Uneasy: Field Notes on Usability

On any given day, we come into contact with dozens, perhaps hundreds, of products, special tools and affordances, most of the time without thinking too much about it. Every once in a while, however, it becomes obvious that something is wrong. We struggle, we feel confused; maybe we can’t get the result we want, no matter how hard we try. Sometimes a product just doesn’t feel quite right. These are symptoms of usability problems.

The field of design is supposed to help us achieve our goals and make life better. Uneasy is a collection of problematic designs with commentary that might help you realize it’s probably not you—it’s the design that doesn’t get it.
